Think you are the XC Guru in Maine? Can you predict the top 10 finishers and top 5 teams for each class for the upcoming Western & Eastern Regionals as well at the State Championship meets? Well this is the contest for you; enter the Maine Milesplit Fantasy XC Championship Prediction contest.

When are your picks due?

-Regionals picks are due October 24th by 9:00pm

-State meet picks are due October 31st by 9:00pm

This is how the scoring will work.

First Round

First Round Regionals: Need to select the top 10 finishers for each class/each gender, so a total of 120 names, as well as 60 teams.

Individual Scoring: 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 for individuals, if you correctly predict the place of any finisher, you will be awarded the points for that place. (Ex. You correctly predict the winner of the Western C Boys race, you will receive 10 points) Now this isn’t the only way to score, even if you don’t correctly pick the place of individual but they finish in the top ten, you’ll get 1 point. (Ex. You pick Luke Fontaine to finish 2nd, but he finishes 1st, you would get 1 point for selecting him as a top 10 finisher, but not the correct place)

Team Scoring: 10,8,6,4,2, if you correctly predict the finishing place of any team. (Ex. if you select the correct winner of Western B Girls, you would get 10 points) This is the only way to score in the team scoring.

Second Round

Individual Scoring: 20, 16, 14,12,10,8,6,4,2,1 for individuals, if you correctly predict the place of any finisher, you will be awarded the points for that place. (Ex. You correctly predict the winner of the C Boys race, you will receive 20 points) Now this isn’t the only way to score, even if you don’t correctly pick the place of individual but they finish in the top ten, you’ll get 1 point. (Ex. You pick Luke Fontaine to finish 2nd, but he finishes 1st, you would get 1 point for selecting him as a top 10 finisher, but not the correct place)

Team Scoring: 20,16,12,8,4, if you correctly predict the finishing place of any team. (Ex. if you select the correct winner of B Girls, you would get 20 points) This is the only way to score in the team scoring.
