Training: This week, my main focus has been to minimize aggravation of my wrist injury. My wrist kept popping on Tuesday, but by Thursday it was holding up well. My right wrist has bothered me since sophomore year, so this is nothing new. I also tried to use the glide again to put the shot, but I lost a lot of speed across the circle. I might try it again during spring, but for right now I'm going to concentrate on getting more height when I “side-shuffle” so I can PR this season.

Meet 3: I was very excited for this meet because our team hasn't seen that much competition in a long time. I taped my wrist this time instead of my usual Powerflex or Ace bandage and it seemed to work well. I got a season PR on my last throw, but I'm still working towards 33 feet. It's finally starting to click for me again, so I'm hopeful in breaking that barrier in the next two weeks. If I can maintain my speed across the circle and get some arc in the shot, then I'll be set. I was in awe of watching the Waterville girls throw... they have impeccable technique... and loud grunts, haha. I will -never- grunt when I throw, but it must help those who do!
