Training: This week was time to have fun. Workout-wise, it was a very easy week. I had trouble gripping the shot after PVC's; it kept falling out of my hand when I tried to put it against my neck. Besides from that, we had our end-of-the-year banquet, which was definitely bittersweet. Mr. Walton is such an amazing coach, so it's really sad to know that he won't be the head coach next year. However, thanks to some crazy (but lovable) freshmen on our team, we have all kinds of pictures from states week, including one where Walton's doing a ninja move! It's been a fun week.. and a great season as well.

PVC's: Many of the seniors and I were sad that it would be our last meet at the fieldhouse (except for those attending UMaine), but it was so much fun. Just about everything seemed to click for our team that day. We waited a long time for shot since the meet was on a time schedule, but it finally came around. My warmups were awful, but my first throw was awesome. When the first throw goes well, it gives me momentum for the next 2 (or 5..). Ericka had a few good throws as well. I got a PR on my 5th throw, but was an inch off the school record. We ended up going 1-3-6, which beats the 2-5-6 we were seeded at. Many of my teammates got seasonal or personal bests as well. As a team, we lost to Brewer by 10 points, but we stepped it up and did what we were supposed to, so it was a good meet.

States: A lot of people on my team did well early on in the meet. Most people came back to the team area with good news. The meet seemed to have a relaxed atmosphere, which felt nice. USM is such a nice track. Some of the runners lamented that the corners weren't banked, but I liked the shot area. I did okay in my event, although I was very, very nervous. I didn't throw with any power – my distances were pure speed and jitters, which was disappointing. However, I can't complain about still being able to contribute a point to my team. Ericka missed finals by an inch, but she's still throwing well. This season, it feels as though this is the right time for practices and meets to be ending. I'm excited for spring, but it's time for a break. I'm happy that my wrist held up for the whole season without too much trouble. I'm also excited about how well our team did this year. It's been a wonderful season.
