Henry Sterling (NYA) sweeps the distance races, 1600(4:24.81), 800 (2:01.55) & 3200(9:44.06)

Chris Fogler (John Bapst) dominates the hurdle races, 110(15.18) & 300(39.67)

Dominic Kone (Bucksport) was a Quad winner; setting the state record in the 100 (10.99), rolling to the 200 title(22.81) & long jump (21-11.5) also was on winning 4x100

Sam Fear (NYA) wins first two state titles, High Jump (6-2) & heaves the javelin (172-08)

Vincent Tymoczko (Bucksport) sprints to 400m title (50.42)

Sam Perkins (Madison) has a breakthrouogh day to capture the pole vault (13-0)

Cameron Doncet-Hall (Dexter) takes the triple jump (41-2)

Matthew Forgues (Boothbay) walks away with racewalk title (7:07.60) to defend his title

Dan Moriarty (Foxcroft) wins the shot on his final throw (45-3.75)

Joe Brown (Central) takes the discus title (133-7)

Bucksport 4x100 runs under 45 (44.87) Tymoczko, Nate Warren, Jon Goodin & Kone

John Bapst end the meet with a victory in the 4x400 (3:34.59)

Sacopee Valley starts the meet off with a 4x800 title (8:39.94) Noah Gleason-Hart, Liam Nee, Logan Nee, & Mark Hayes

Team Recap

 

North Yarmouth was paced by triple winner, Henry Sterling, who took the 800m, 1600m, & 3200m. NYA also received a huge contribution from Sam Fear who won the high jump & javelin, plus a runner-up in the shot put & 3rd place in the discus for 34 total points. Steve Lentine provided points in the hurdles, with a 4th place in the 110’s & 7th place in the 300’s. Racewalker Doug Goldstein scored a 6th place finish for 2 valuable points. The surprise of the meet might have been the 3rd place finish in the 300 hurdles for Mohamed Dahia, who scored out of the slower heat. The 4x400 brought the championship home, as the team of Robby Lentine, Nick Kolkin, Mohamed Dahia & Henry Sterling finished 4th.

The Lisbon Greyhounds put up a strong challenge and came up just short of a championship. The Greyhounds started the meet off with a 4th place showing in the 4x800. George Clement scored a 6th in the 110’s, 5th in the high jump, 4th in the long jump & 6th in the triple jump for 11 points. Sprinter/jumper Kyle Huston took 2nd in the high jump, along with a 3rd in the 100m & 6th in the 200, good for 18 points. Racewalker Tyler Campbell walked to a runner-up finish. The 4x100 team added on 8 valuable points with a runner-up finish. Eric Metzger ran well in the 400m earning a 3rd place. Cameron Bubar earned another 8 points via his finish in the 800m, plus added a 2nd in the javelin for 16 total points. Freshman Morgan Reeves had a strong day, with a 3rd place in the triple jump & 7th place in the pole vault. Thrower Joe Doughty would add two points via his 7th place finish in the discus & shot put. Lisbon 4x400 gave its best effort to hold onto the slim lead, but would finish 6th.

Jamie Pelletier(Fort Kent) was the top sprinter on the day, defending her 100m title (12.94), winning the 200m (26.99) & completing the sprint triple with the 400m (60.91)

Ariel Howes (Hall-Dale) was a double winner, taking both hurdle races 110(16.45) & 300(48.45)

Carly O’Brien (Traip) easily outjumped the rest of the field in the long jump (16-9)

John Bapst started the meet off on the right foot with a victory in the 4x800 (10:17.09) with the team of Charlotte Firestone, Kim Spencer, Maggie Bryan & Jennie Wainer

Jane Larlee (Mattanawcook) dominated the racewalk winning by 40+ seconds (8:54.22)

Holli Kenison (Orono) leapt out to 34-8 ½ to win the triple jump

Maggie Bryan (John Bapst) was the top distance runner, taking the 1600 (5:37.89) & 800m (2:30.16), along with victories in the 4x800 & 4x400

Hillary Pelkey (Mattanawcook) chucked the javelin 117-0 to outdistance the rest of the field & added another in the shot put (33-3 ½)

Orono was tops in the 4x100 relay (52.86) with the team of Lourine Weller, Ariel Meaker, Julie Normand, & Chelsea Wagner

Maeve Stier (NYA) cleared 4-10 to take the high jump

Shelby Wheeler (Orono) topped the rest of the pole vault field with a (9-6) clearance

Mary Carmack (John Bapst) completed the distance sweep for the Crusaders by winning the 3200 (12:34.97)

Rebekah Sullivan (Lisbon) was the top discus thrower with a throw of (101-11)

John Bapst finished what they started taking the 4x400 relay (4:19.96)

 

Team Recap

 

John Bapst scored 26 points in the relays, winning both the 4x800 & 4x400 and adding a 3rd place finish in 4x100. Robyn Handley added 4 points in the race walk, while the crusaders dominated the 1600, taking 4 places led by the victory of Maggie Bryan. In 3rd was Mary Carmack, followed by Kim Spencer in 4th and Amanda Lalime in 6th, good for 22 points as a team. Maggie Bryan was key once again in the 800m, running to the victory and 10 more points. The points continue to pile up as a result of the distance runners, in the 3200 Bapst’s scored 17 points, led by the Mary Carmack win, with Laura Donovan’s 4th and Kim Spencer’s 5th. In the high jump, Jen Daley was 3rd and Stesha Rudnicki was 4th. Maria Ullo added a 6th place in the triple jump, while Danielle Leclair added a 6th in the shot put & 7th in the discus.

The Red Riots of Orono were the runner-ups; they got 16 points from hurdler Chelsea Wagner with 2nd place finishes in the 100’s & 300’s. Holli Kenison added a win in the triple jump, along with a pair of 5th place finishes in the 100 hurdles & 300 hurdles. The 4x100 squad of Lourine Weller, Ariel Meaker, Julie Normand, & Chelsea Wagner added 10 more points with the win. Kate Bulteel was a top sprinter, adding a 5th in the 400 & a runner-up position in the 200m. The quartet of Holli Kenison, Ariel Meaker, Chelsea Wagner, & Kate Bulteel notched a runner-up in the 4x400. Orono showed its dominance in the pole vault, scoring 18.5 points, led by a first place finish from Shelby Wheeler, a 3rd place from Ariel Meaker, and a 5th place tie from Kate Bulteel.
