Bayak Sets State All-Time Best In High Jump, 5-10
Westbrook junior Nyagoa Bayak traveled to the state of Virgina this weekend for some warm weather, and she was rewarded as the indoor All-American broke the Maine all-time best outdoor mark of 5-9 set by Jesse LaBreck (Messalonskee) back in 2008 at the Class A state meet. Bayak who cleared 5-10 indoors, started the competition at 5-4 with a first attempt make, she would then make the next three bars on her second attempt. She ended up placing second overall based on misses. She also added the 5th best triple jump performance in state history as she got out to a new outdoor personal best of 38-1.
