Around the PVC - Kohtala Breaks LJ Record

Orono senior Camille Kohtala broke her own PVC-EMITL Record in the long jump with a leap of 18-2 3/4. The mark was a personal best indoors by 1/2. Her mark remains the third best effort in state indoor history, and is tops in Class B and the state this winter. Kohtala also was the runner in the 55m dash with a 7.56 effort, that time ranks her second in Class B.

Class B state leader in the 55m Cymeria Robshaw won her speciality in a time of 7.54. She would add a win in the triple jump 33-8 1/4 and a runner-up finish in the long jump 16-9. She ranks second in Class B in both jumps.

George Stevens Academy's Grace Broughton won the 55 hurdles in a time of 9.76. She would add a second victory with a 28.62 effort in the 200m.

Anna Bateman of Hermon swept the distance races with a 5:50.34 clocking in the mile and a 12:41.59 effort in the 2 mile.

Old Town's Emma Hargreaves won the shot put with a strong 37-11 effort. She is the Class B and state leader in the event.

On the boys side Hermon standout Zach Beaton had another strong meet. Beaton won the 55m hurdles in a time of 8.09, added a 23.70 to win the 200m and added a third win with a 5-10 clearance in the high jump.

Old Town's Liang-kang Lin sprinted his way to a 6.79 win the 55m dash. He added another victory with a leap of 20-4 1/2 in the long jump.
