Brunswick Boys, Messalonskee Girls Win KVAC A Titles

The girls meet was much closer team wise than the boys but in the end Eagles of Messalonskee prevailed 119.5 to 104.5 over Edward Little.

In the complete opposite manner of the Brunswick boys the Messalonskee girls won just one event. Charlotte Wentworth was the lone winner for the Eagles as she captured the 400m in a time of 62.73 holding off her teammate Emma Wentworth 62.91 for the title. Charlotte showed great range with a third place in the 2 mile later in the meet.

Emma Wentworth captured a second runner-up finish in the 200m with her time of 27.34 and added a. fourth place in the 55m. In the distance events Peyton Arbour provided key points with her runner-up finish in the 2 mile, and a third place effort in the mile.

Edward Little's Jillian Richardson was the top female performer of the meet as she swept the distance events winning the mile in a time of 5:23.07, the 800m (2:27.16) and the 2 mile (11:32.56).

In the jumps Mt Ararat's Wyley Fitzpatrick was a double winner as she leaped out to 15-9 1/2 in the long and posted a winning mark of 33-6 in the triple.

Lewiston thrower Benedict Citenga posted a mark of 35-4 1/2 to win the shot put, she has the second best throw in Class A this winter.
