Cayden Spencer-Thompson of Mattanawcook Academy broke the state class record in the long jump with 23-6 1/2 winning effort. The previous mark of 23-5 1/2 effort of Kennebunk's David Eagleson back in 1990. Spencer-Thompson now holds three of the four class records in the event.

He wasn't done as he added the senior class record in the triple jump with a impressive 47-4 opening leap. His mark surpassed the 46-9 1/4 2013 effort of Atencio Martin of Traip Academy. He know holds all four class records in the event.

Brewer's Sean Neal was a double winner in the throws taking the shot put with a heave of 44-3, and the discus with a throw of 119-6.

Orono's Camille Kohtala openered her season in winning fashion as she clocked 13.06 to cross the line first in the 100m. Her 49.53 in the 300m hurdles & 16-3 1/4 leap in the long jump were also winning efforts.

Brewer's Morgan Honey won the 100m hurdles in a time of 16.69, and added another victory with a 34-4 1/4 leap in the triple jump.

Lauren Melanson of Orono cracked the 100 ft barrier in the discus with a throw of 101-0, while Brewer's Ashley Tanguay threw 109-4 to win the javelin.
