The boys meet had plenty of top performances as well, and a team title that came down to the 4x400 relay.

Heading into the final event just 2/3 of a point separated Thornton Academy & Scarborough with the Red storm holding the advantage. TA got off to a strong start in the 4x400m thanks to an excellent leadoff leg by Parker Redlon, the Red Storm battled back on the second leg thanks to senior John Goff. Windham joined the fray on the second leg, and Scarborough and the Eagles battled just like they did at the Cumberland County Championship a week ago. Scarborough received the baton on the final exchange first with Noah Drapeau on the carry, Windham's Ethan Wert who was the runner-up in the open 400m seized the lead with 200m to go to lead the Eagles to a state leading 3:33.58 victory. Scarborough was second to clinch the conference title, while TA finished a strong 4th.

With a strong wind behind the sprinters and hurdles several personal bests were recorded throughout the races. In the 100m Jarett Flaker of Scarborough lowered his SMAA conference record from 10.83 down to 10.71. The time is the fastest ever recorded in the state of Maine for the 100m. Behind him Cheverus junior Sean Tompkins ran under 11 seconds for the first time with his 10.85 effort, which moves him to third best in state history.

Flaker would add a second victory with a state leading 22.56 in the 200m run into a headwind.

Scarborough also got a victory from Noah Drapeau in the 800m as he benefited from the DQ of state leader Mahmad Sharif for a false start. Drapeau let Landon Heidrich of TA set the early pace, taking over at the 600m mark, and then holding off the hard charging field to win in 2:02.90. Drapeau also was part of the Red Storm's 4x800m relay that won the opening track event in a time of 8:25.44

Senior Anthony Clavette provided big points for Scarborough throughout the day as he won the high jump with a 6-4 1/4 leap, and was second in the 110m hurdles (15.27) & triple jump (42-2 1/4). All three marks were personal bests.

In the 110m hurdles Thornton Academy standout Travis Snyder dominated the field as he clocked a state leading 14.65. He also cleared 15 feet to win the pole vault, and added a third victory in the 300m hurdles (40.75) to pace the Golden Trojans.

In the field Jason Montano returned for TA, and picked up where he left off. The DePaul bound senior won the shot put with a toss of 60-4, and added a 165-8 effort to win the discus.

Thornton Academy also got wins from Grant Dow in the javelin (160-0) and Lucas Judice in the 1600m racewalk (7:49.55).

The Deering 4x1 relay executed their passes to perfection as they lowered their state leading time down to 43.63 holding off a Scarborough team anchored by Jarett Flaker. Their time broke the conference record of 43.90 set by Scarborough back in 2013.

Falmouth's Doug Cooke executed a strong race plan in the 400m as he crossed first in a fine 50.61. His teammate Ben Greene outkicked the field over the last 400m to clam the 1600m title in 4:25.14 a new state leading mark for the distance.

Freshman Frank Morang won the triple jump with a 42-7 1/4 leap while Joe Emery of South Portland jumped a huge personal best of 21-11 1/4 to improve by almost two feet than his previous best.
