Turn Back The Clock Tuesday: Erzsebet Nagy Runs 2:13.50 for 800m at 2012 New England Championship

Erzsebet Nagy of Lawrence is one of the best all-time distance runners in Maine state history. In her junior year at the New England Championship she finished sixth in the 800m clocking a personal best 2:13.50, entering the race Nagy had a personal best of 2:16.27. The mark set a new Maine state outdoor record for 800m surpassing the former state record of 2:15.1 by set in 2007 by Scarborough's Kaitlynn Saldanha. 

The pace was strong from the gun with Nagy tucking herself in the pack in lane, the first 400m was covered in 65 seconds by Erzsebet. Nagy battled hard after the top four broke away with 300m to go she maintained her positioning well all the way to the finish line.

Nagy currently ranks third all-time in state history in the 800m, fourth fastest in the 1600m (4:57.66) & eighth best in the 3200m (10:49.27)

She went on to compete collegiately at Middlebury College, earning multiple All-American honors.
