Throwback Thursday: Guiliani Heaves It 71-1 1/2
Today we throw it back to 2016 outdoor season where South Portland senior Danny Guiliani was breaking records in the shot put.
I woke up Wednesday morning and thought "Today will be the day". The day I just put all nerves aside and believe in the training and the technique,..the day I just step up and get it done.

During a regular season meet at Noble, Guiliani opened with a throw of 68-0 1/2 which was a personal best and New England record distance. His second throw was over 70ft for another record, but it was on his third throw that he uncorked the best throw of his life a 71-1 1/2 bomb.
The mark is more than six feet further than any other school boy in Maine has ever thrown the 12lb shot. The mark at the time was the 16th best in United States high school history, today he still in a tie for 20th best all-time.
Guiliani now competes for Ole Miss University.
