Throwback Thursday: Ramadan Sets 400m Class A State Record
We throw it back to the 2015 Class A indoor state meet for the boys 400m race. Deering senior Hany Ramadan was pushed to the Class A title by Cheverus senior Jake Dixon in the process breaking the state meet record with his winning 49.78 effort. The time broke the two year old mark of 49.93 held by Alex Nichols of Brunswick. With the time Hany moved to second best in state history in the event, as of today his time ranks him third all-time among Maine boys in the event indoors.
Ramadan followed up his win in the 400m with another victory over Dixon in the 200m with a 22.70 effort, the fifth fastest in state hsitory. He went on to compete in the 600 meter race at the New England championship where he finished third running 1:22.34.
Ramadan competed collegiately for the University of Southern Maine.
