Today we go way back to the 2018 Class C Outdoor State Championship where Cayden Spencer-Thompson leaped 23-1 1/2 to set a new Class C state meet record. Spencer-Thompson the best jumper in state history broke his own state meet record of 22-3 1/2 set in his sophomore year with the jump. His jump was more than two feet further than the runner-up.
Cayden added a second win in the triple jump with a winning jump of 46-5, his effort was more than four feet further than the second-place jump.
At the New England Championship, Spencer-Thompson won the long jump title with a state record-breaking jump of 24-1 3/4, that effort was the best recorded in his storied history.
Cayden who now competes for Louisville has the twelve longest jumps in Maine outdoor track history.
