Today we flashback to the 2017 Class A Championship meet held at Massabesic High School to the girls 200m race.
Freshman Emma Gallant the top seed dominated the race clocking a new personal best of 25.33 to win the event leading the Stags to a 1-2 finish in the event. In the process of winning, Gallant broke the Class A state meet record of 25.49 set back in 2011 by Nicole Kirk of Scarborough.
Gallant helped guide Cheverus to the team title with a win the 100m dash (12.60), a leg on the winning 4x400m relay, and a leg on the second-place 4x100m team.
Emma went on to win the 200m at the New England championship in a personal best 24.81, her time ranks her as the third-fastest female in state history.
