WATCH: Tyler Patterson vs Grady Satterfield 2 Mile Time Trial
On Friday evening at Bowdoin College, a few local athletes toed the line for a 2-mile time trial. Paced by 2 time Class A state champion Lisandro Berry-Gaviria of Mt Ararat, the field of junior Tyler Patterson (Brunswick), sophomore Grady Satterfield (Mt Ararat), junior Ben Greene (Falmouth) & sophomore Zach Barry (Scarborough) set out to see how fast they could run.
Lisandro led the field through 1600m in 4:42 with Tyler Patterson followed by Satterfield and Greene. Barry was through in 4:49. Patterson and Satterfield started breakaway on the next lap as Greene was dropped. Patterson went through 2400m at 7:06, with Satterfield a few strides back in 7:08.
With a lap to Patterson continued to lead hitting the bell at 8:18, with Satterfield back at 8:21. Satterfield was able to close very well over the last 200m, but it was Patterson taking the win with a 9:25.2 and Satterfield 9:25.8.
Both marks were substantial personal bests, Patterson entered with a 10:17.32 from 2019 outdoor season, although he did clock a 9:56.62 indoors for 2 miles. Satterfield's best 3200m was 10:16.08 from 2019, however, he did run 9:39.20 indoors for 2 miles.
Greene finished up with a time of 10:01 followed by Barry in a time 10:33.
