It was a busy day of action at Cony High School as the KVAC Class A Championship took place with four races. Due to COVID-19 restrictions in place, the meet was split into South and North with separate races. At the conclusion of the races the performances from each meet were merged together as one race with the top four teams and two individuals not on a qualifying team advancing to the Class A state meet.

In the boys KVAC South race it was Brunswick senior Tyler Patterson currently ranked #2 in the Maine MileSplit Watchlist pulling away from #3 ranked Grady Satterfield of Mt Ararat at the halfway point. Patterson extended his lead over the second half of the race en route to his winning effort of 16:46, after the merge of the two races he had the fastest time of the day. Satterfield ran a strong second as he cracked the 17-minute barrier with his 16:58 effort.

In the boys, KVAC North race a pack of three controlled the early pace with Gordon Doore and Daniel McCarthy of Bangor along with Abbott Valentine of Hampden Academy. Valentine took over the lead with a mile to go and withstood a late push from McCarthy to win the race in a time of 17:05 to 17:07.

Bangor behind four of the top seven overall cruised to the team title with thirty-seven points as the #2 ranked Rams outdistanced runner-up Mt Ararat by 20 points, Brunswick finished third just one point back of the Class A defending state champion Eagles. Hampden Academy with 96 points also advanced to the state meet.

Messalonskee senior Dylan Flewelling (12th 17:57), Casey Gallant a senior from Cony (13th 18:02), and Messalonskee junior Caden Cote (20th 18:36) were the three individuals advancing to the state meet.
