The EMITL distance finals took place last Saturday at Bangor amidst some winter weather that saw snow falling during some of the races. With the track clear of snow and ice the top performers from the regular had one last shot to clock a seasonal or personal best.
In the boys, 800m Brewer senior Logan Geiser took the victory running 2:12.45, while senior Jon Genrich of Mt Desert Island was the runner-up clocking 2:13.96. Geiser won all four 800m races he ran in this winter, he placed third in the Class B state meet a year ago.

Bangor's Anna Connors moved up in distance this winter to have the chance to compete. A year ago Connors finished third in the Class A 200m running 26.34, and 59.61 as a freshman. On Saturday Connors let Orono's Eleanor Tyne set the pace before using her speed to nab the victory in 2:29.45 while Tyne was second in 2:30.33.
Connors spoke to MileSplit about the season and final race, "This season has definitely been a different experience. I was glad to be able to compete even though it was an unfamiliar distance. As for the meet last Saturday it was a challenge with the snow and masks but everyone has adapted well."

In the mile Class B defending two-mile champion, Olivia Mosca ran undefeated in the EMITL in the mile this winter. Mosca dominated the competition on Saturday winning by over twenty-six seconds with her 5:38.80 effort. Bangor sophomore Sadie Harrow was the runner-up in 5:38.80

The boy's mile race was a very competitive race with the top three separated by half of second. In the end freshman, William Hileman of Bucksport outlasted two seniors to win in 5:00.20. Dylan Fowler of Hermon was second on 5:00.50 while Orono senior Liam Farrell was third in 5:00.70.
