Interviews with Maine's All-New England XC Runners

Maine had a succesful day at the New England Cross-Country Championship in Thetford Vermont on Saturday. The boys earned three All-New England honors, while the girls were spectacular with seven honorees, including the individual champion and runner-up team. Check out all the interviews below. Editors note: We unfortunately didn't get interview Bangor's Megan Randall who placed 14th.


New England XC Champion Ruth White of Orono High School


Daniel McCarthy of Bangor High School was the top Maine finisher with his ninth place effort.


Hadley Mahoney of Cape Elizabeth finished in 4th place

Abbott Valentine of Hampden Academy placed 14th to earn All-NE honors.

York sophomore Cary Drake ran a great race to place 5th.

Calvin Cummings of Gorham had the best race of his high school career to place 25th.

Delaney Hesler of Bonny Eagle secured a low stick for the Scots with her 6th place effort.

Junior Thea Crowley of George Stevens Academy finished 8th.

Nora White of Orono ran for only the second time in six weeks and placed 17th.


The Bonny Eagle girls placed second the highest finish from a girls team from Maine in New England XC History.
