XC Countdown 2022: #22 Cape Elizabeth Boys

Maine MileSplit 2022 XC Team Countdown

With the calendar switching to August soon we wanted to switch gears from the track to the trails to get ready for the upcoming cross-country season. Athletes around the state are hitting the roads and trails building up a strong base in hopes of a successful cross-country in 2022, with the hopes of lifting the state championship as a team in November the ultimate goal. Our plan is to highlight who we think are the top 25 returning girls and boys xc teams over the next three weeks. Thanks to Cheverus XC/track coach Nick Denari for volunteering his time and efforts to put this countdown together.

Finn Morris & Ben Colello will look to help Cape back to another state meet this fall.

2022 Outlook:

Cape Elizabeth looks to reload after a 3rd place finish in Class B last year. They Capers graduate 4 of their top 5 from that race and will need some new contributors to step up in 2022. The Capers have a solid top 3 headlined by Seb Hesser and should benefit from good senior leadership among their top 7. Time will tell if that will lead to the same successes that this program usually enjoys. It appears that Cape shouldn't have too much trouble advancing to the State Championships but will likely have trouble making too much noise when they get there.
