XC Countdown 2022: #16 Kennebunk Boys

Maine MileSplit 2022 XC Team Countdown

With the calendar switching to August soon we wanted to switch gears from the track to the trails to get ready for the upcoming cross-country season. Athletes around the state are hitting the roads and trails building up a strong base in hopes of a successful cross-country in 2022, with the hopes of lifting the state championship as a team in November the ultimate goal. Our plan is to highlight who we think are the top 25 returning girls and boys xc teams over the next three weeks. Thanks to Cheverus XC/track coach Nick Denari for volunteering his time and efforts to put this countdown together.

Flynn Crean is the top returner for the Rams he placed 24th in the Class A meet last fall.

2022 Outlook:

Kennebunk returns a team stacked with seniors that will try to improve upon their 11th place finish from 2021. The Rams will be lead by Flynn Crean and Trevor Williams. Williams seems to have closed the gap to his teammate: he ran 10:37 for 3200m while Crean ran 10:35. After that, the Rams have a tight pack of 5 returners that should all be within 30 seconds of each other. The improvement of that group will determine how far Kennebunk goes in 2022
