XC Countdown 2022: #15 Greely Girls

Maine MileSplit 2022 XC Team Countdown

With the calendar switching to August soon we wanted to switch gears from the track to the trails to get ready for the upcoming cross-country season. Athletes around the state are hitting the roads and trails building up a strong base in hopes of a successful cross-country in 2022, with the hopes of lifting the state championship as a team in November the ultimate goal. Our plan is to highlight who we think are the top 25 returning girls and boys xc teams over the next three weeks. Thanks to Cheverus XC/track coach Nick Denari for volunteering his time and efforts to put this countdown together.

Sabine Sites placed 39th as 10th grader at the Class B state meet last fall.

2022 Outlook: Greely should be competitive in class B once again in 2022. In 2021, the Rangers saved their best race for last by finishing 3rd at the state level after finishing just 4th at the regional. They bring back a low stick in Annie Reynolds who should contend for a top 5 finish in Class B. Behind her, they bring back five more runners that could all contribute at different points throughout the season. A return trip to States is all but assured for this team, but without significant improvement, finishing in the top 3 in Class B will be difficult.
