2022 Outlook:  MDI returns four of seven runners from a squad that won the Class B North title last year. Senior Sam York will be a force to be reckoned with and is a major contender for the Class B individual title. He has the fastest personal best out of all athletes in Class B and is coming off a 4^th place finish as a junior. The Trojans have a number of solid runners behind York, but most intriguing is an incoming crop of freshmen headlined by JJ Cistone, who ran 4:57 over 1600m as an 8^th grader at MDI Middle School. He led the way for a program that had 4 8^th graders under the 6-minute barrier, so he may not be the only freshman to contribute this year to this program. MDI should place very highly in all of the championship meets this season.
