Western Maine Conference Invitational Preview

The meet once called the Western Maine Conference Championship is now called the Western Maine Conference Invitational. The meet will again be held at St. Joesph's College in Standish with a 3 pm. start. The girls will race first followed by the boys. There is a new course this year so the winner will set a new course record.

The girl's meet features two of the top runners in the state and five athletes who have been in the top 12 or are in the chase pack. Additionally, three of the top ten teams in the state will square off with five of the top seven Class B teams will compete, and two of the top three Class C teams.

The boy's race features four of the top twelve-ranked athletes statewide. The top seven ranked Class B runners will square off in what could be a sneak preview of next week's regional championship. On the team side, the top three ranked Class B teams will square off along with two other top seven-ranked teams.

We will be on-site with race video, photo, and interview coverage as we kick off conference championship week.
