EMITL Large School - Miles Burr of MDI set a new EMITL record in the 55m as he clocked 6.46 to equal the state record on Thursday. Burr also won the 200m (22.46) and triple jump (42-4 1/2). Bangor's Gage Jones was the 55m runner-up with a 6.52, making him the 7th-best performer in event history. 

In the small school meet Sumner senior Kaleb Colson pulled off an impressive triple as he won the 400-800-200 events in successive order. Colson took the 400m (53.22), 800m (2:01.47), and the 200m (24.26). The 200m mark was a new personal best

Bangor took the large school team title with ease with 153 points. The Rams got wins from Ian Randall in the shot put (49-10 1/4), Aidan Linder in the 400m (52.49), Gage Jones in the long jump (20-10 3/4), and the 4x200 relay team (1:36.32)

Orono eeked one out for the boy's title as the Red Riots scored 99 to hold off Sumner (97) and George Stevens/Blue Hill (97). They got wins from Alex Maheu in the pole vault (12-6) and Cooper Sawyer in the shot put (46-9).

In the girl's large school meet Brewer standout Lauren Vanidestine was a triple winner as she swept the sprints, 55m (7.42) and 200m (26.79) plus added a leap of 35-10 3/4 to win the triple jump. MDI's Amelia Vandongen ran the ninth-best 800m in state history to win in the event in 2:15.69

In the small school meet Bucksport's Haley Rose was a standout as she won the 55m (7.61), 200m (26.68), and 400m (63.19). Distance star Teanne Ewings of Houlton/GHCA won the 800m (2:27), Mile (5:12.24), and the 2 Mile (11:7.82). Standout jumper Natasha Monreal provided a pair of wins for Bucksport in the long jump (16-6 1/2) and triple jump (34-6 1/4)

Bangor girls were once again the cream of the crop in the large school meet as the Rams tallied 152.5 points. Sophia Chase won the 400m (61.60) and got wins from the 4x200 (1:50.91) and 4x800m (10:17.66) relays.

Behind Rose and Monreal Bucksport cruised to the small school team title with 159.5 points.


WMC - Fryeburg's Logan Walton was the top sprinter on the boy's side as he won the 55m (6.68) and 200m (23.30) in personal best times. In the distance events Lake Region junior Sam Laverdiere won the mile (4:29.87) and the 2 mile (9:50.33). In the jumps Fryeburg Academy senior Arkie Baptista was a double winner, leaping to 20-8 1/4 in the long jump and 41-4 in the triple. Yarmouth junior Ethan Hoffman set a new Class B lead with his victory in the shot put (47-1 1/4). Greely closed the meet with a new state B leader in the 4x200 as the Rangers sped to a 1:36 clocking.

York won the team title once again as the Wildcats tallied 168 points. Sophomore Jack Estes won the junior 200 (24.68) and led the junior relay to victory (1:41.62), while Sam Hunter clocked 2:02.99 to win the 800m. Senior Gavin Davis cleared 6-0 to win the high jump.

Freeport freshman Emma Graham was a double winner in the sprints taking the junior 55m (7.80) and 200m (27.69). In the senior sprint Abby Noble of Yarmouth swept the 55m (7.73) and 200m (27.72) and anchored the winning 4x200 relay. Senior Cary Drake of York won the mile (5:15.93) and 2 Mile (11:21.18) while also running a win on the Wildcats 4x800 relay which set a new state leading time in the event (10:00). Freshman Victoria Zandan was a double winner taking the junior 55m hurdles (9.14), and long jump (16-6 3/4) while Lake Region senior Campbell Johnson took the senior high jump (4-8) and triple jump (33-6 1/2).

York won the team title behind Drake's victories and wins from Zoe Carroll in the 800m (2:22.03), Audrey Drennan in the senior hurdles (9.72), and Nora Dowling in the senior shot put (29-3 3/4).


SMAA Southwesterns - Andre Clark of Marshwood shattered the league record in the 55m as he set a new state all-time best in the event with a 6.39. Clark doubled back to win the 200m (22.76) and anchored the Hawks to a runner-up finish in the Open 4x200 relay with the #2 time in the state at 1:34.66. Gorham senior Nolan Feyler pushed Clark to his fast times, Feyler moved to the 8th best performer in 55m dash state history with his 6.53 runner-up finish. He added a new SMAA record and state lead in the 400m (50.05), the mark is the ninth best in state history, Nolan finished as runner-up in the 200m for the Rams.

On the distance side, Noble senior Maddox Jordan lowered his conference record in the mile as he dominated the competition. Jordan clocked 4:19.58 to lower his one record by .04. Jordan returned to the track for the sprint medley to anchor his team to victory, and in the process set a new SMAA record in the event at 3:42.91.

Over at the jump pit, Arnaud Sioho of South Portland had a monster meet, he leaped out to a new SMAA record of 22-7 1/4 in the long jump, the leap makes Sioho the sixth-best performer in state indoor history. He also won the triple jump (44-3). Sioho was the surprise winner in the 55m hurdles as he clocked a Class A lead of 7.84 to win the event.

Falmouth set a new state lead in the 4x200m relay as the Navigators clocked 1:33.71 while Scarborough's Wyatt Martin won the pole vault with a leap of 13-1 which was a state lead until Monday. Falmouth's Ali Carter was a double winner in the junior sprint events as he ran 6.67 (55m) and 23.43 (200m).

South Portland won the league title for the third year in a row behind the dominating performance of Sioho. They also got a win from sophomore Michael Lawlor in the junior 800m (2:07.7) and Evan Small added a victory in the two mile (9:52.94). 

Portland junior Samantha Moore showed she's one of the best distance runners in the state as she set two new SMAA records in winning the mile (4:57.96) and 800m (2:15.83), both times leading Class A. Her time in the mile improved on her 5th-best performance in state history while her 800m time is just outside the top ten at 11th.

Freshman Macey Weisberg had a big day for Cheverus as she won the junior 55m (7.59) and 200m (26.56) plus added a win in the junior long jump (16-5 1/2). Windham's Tayla Pelletier was a standout as she clocked 8.68 to win the 55m hurdles, and leaped 34-0 1/2 to take the triple jump.

Falmouth senior Ruby Prentiss extended her state lead in the shot put with a personal best toss of 38-5. While her teammate Hadley Perry was a double winner taking the junior 55m hurdles (9.27) and 400m (62.83.) Deering senior Lara Gin set a new state-leading mark in winning the senior 400m (59.79). Another double winner was Isabella Harmon of Scarborough who cleared 5-0 in the junior high jump and a Class A leading 10 feet in the pole vault.


KVAC Class B

Winslow senior Joseph Richards dominated the sprints as he won the 55m (6.66), 200m (23.11), and 400m (50.89). In the distance events, Nokomis junior Elijah Jakubisn won the mile (4:43.90) and 2 mile (10:40.86). Leavitt's Stephen Pierre won three events, he won the 55m hurdles in a quick 7.78, then added a 6-1 clearance in the high jump and 21-8 3/4 effort in the long jump.

Leavitt won the team title with 121 as they easily outpaced runner-up Winslow (81 points). Pierre led the way with thirty points. The Hornets also got a win from Maddox Demers in the shot put (45-6 1/2) and Cole Johanson in the pole vault (10-0). Leavitt also won the 4x200m relay (1:37.38).

Morse junior Shealyn Brochu showed incredible range and toughness as she won the mile (5:47.23), 400m (60.58), and 800m (2:32.48), all three events are consecutive in the order. Leavitt senior Serae Fish won the 55m hurdles (9.27) and high jump (5-0). Kara Anderson of Waterville was a double winner as she leaped 17-1 to win the long jump and 35-0 3/4 in the triple jump. 

The Shipbuilders of Morse won the team title 93-86 over Leavitt. Brochu lead the way for Morse with 30 points. Senior Sarah Ouellette cleared 11-0 to win the pole vault and Emmarie Wallace was the victor in the 200m 27.85)


KVAC Class A

Skowhegan's Billy Albertson won three events to lead all scorers in the meet. Albertson broke the KVAC record in the long jump and set a state-leading mark with his 22-9 3/4. The distance moves Albertson to third-best in state history. In the 55m, he clocked a new personal best of 6.57 for his second win and closed out his night with a third personal best of 22.95 in the 200m. Speaking of record-breaking performances Ethan Palmer of Mt. Ararat shattered the triple jump league record with his 46-9 1/4 effort. The mark is a new state leader and third-best jump in state history. Palmer also won the 55m hurdles (8.11)

Brunswick senior Ben Klingle won the mile (4:37.41) and 800m (2:06.33) using big kicks to blow away the field. Bryce Holden cleared a Class A leading 13-7 to win the pole vault and set a school record. Josia Katroli cleared 6-4 to win the high jump and Ryker Paradis won the shot put (51-10)

Mt Ararat won the team title behind Palmer and Holden and also got a win from senior Aidan Greenleaf in the 400m (52.75)

Lewiston senior Makenna Drouin was the outstanding female performer as she won three events. Drouin won the 55m hurdles (8.49), 55m (7.21), 200m (26.45). Brunswick senior Maeve Woodruff was a double winner, she took the mile (5:46.96) and 800m (2:29.88).

Mt Ararat overcame Brunswick in the triple jump the final event of the meet as Hanna Killion moved up from the third seed to win the event with a personal best of 33-0 1/2. The Eagles got wins from Lydia White in the pole vault (9-6), Aubrey Pelletier in the shot put (30-7 1/4) and Grace Keleher took the win in 2 mile (13:27.70)
