2024 Outlook:
The Trojans return six runners from the Northern Maine Regional Championship team and will look to defend their title this fall. MDI is also primed to improve on a sixth-place Class B state meet finish from 2023. Led by individual title threat Amelia Vandongen the Trojans have a low stick. Coach Sirios was impressed with the summer training the group was able to put in. Look for MDI to remain one of the best teams in the state and be in the mix for a state title come November.
Coach Desiree Sirios Comments:
Summer training has been consistent. I am always impressed by the commitment the team has to ensuring they start the season off prepared and injury-free as possible. For this season I want the team to work hard, have fun, and challenge themselves. We are excited to welcome new runners and incorporate them into our team and XC family. We look forward to focusing on fundamentals and working as a cohesive program to do our best for the team which revolves around personal bests as the result of concentrated effort, team unity, and communication. I am so excited to work with this amazing group of young woman and see where their talents and drive take them.
