2024 Outlook
Brunswick returns five runners from a sixth-place team a year ago. The Dragons have experience with six of the top seven returners being seniors. I would expect Brunswick to have a tight pack with five guys capable of being within less than 20 seconds of each other this fall. With that tight pack expect the Dragons to contend for Conference, Regional, and State titles this fall.
Coach Dan Dearing Comments:
Summer training went very well. The boys are determined to do well this fall. They self-organized several group runs which were primarily over-distance runs, and which included race pace tempo at times. We also had a few optional sessions and I was impressed with their turnover and ability to maintain their momentum over hilly cross-country terrain. Many team members attended a summer running camp and are excited to implement the things they learned which included training, recovery/sleep, and diet. We hope for everyone to stay healthy and to be at their best at the end of the season. We should see strong front runners, who are looking to finish well at every meet. We have several new names on the team and look forward to welcoming them to our swarm of veteran runners.
