Senior Zoe Mosher made the trip down from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia as the Parkview standout bested a talented field at the twenty-four Maine XC Festival of Champions. Mosher was the only runner in the field to crack the 18-minute barrier as she crossed the finish first at 17:39.11.
Teanne Ewings of Houlton/GHCA was again runner-up in the race as the senior clocked 18:16.19. York's Zoe Carroll who is splitting time being the pitch and the trails this fall had a breakthrough race as the junior finished with a strong kick to secure third place in a personal best of 18:25.49. Anna Carruthers of Lockview HS in Nova Scotia was fourth in 18:26.87 while Mt Desert Island senior Amelia Vandongen closed well over the last 600m to round out the top five in 18:27.19.
The seventh-ranked Mt.Desert Island Trojans surprised the field as they cruised to the team win with 141 points. York, the eighth-ranked squad was the runner-up, while Camden Hills the ninth-ranked team was third.
