The Class A Girls State Championship meet promises to be a good one with top-end talent capable of breaking many records, and a handful of teams capable of taking the top spot on the podium.
The Bangor Rams lead the way based on the seeds by 20 points, the Rams have won three of the last four team titles and will be looking to return to the top of the podium. The sprints and jumps are where the Rams will be looking to pile up the points. Standout Sophia Chase (26 points) is the top seed in the long jump and second seed in the 200/400m for Bangor.
Last year's champion Scarborough ranks second with 61.27 points. The Red Storm's strength is the jumps and distance. Distance ace Laurel Driscoll is seeded for 16 points and will look to anchor to a victory as well. In the jumps junior Isabella Harmon is the top seed in the high jump and pole vault for the Red Storm.
The Portland Bulldogs are third with 54 points. The Bulldogs will look to senior distance star Samantha Moore to lead the way. Moo...
