2025 Maine High School Boys Cross-Country Team Rankings for the Week of September 15.
In our first rankings update since the preseason, there's been plenty of movement with several new teams breaking into the top ten.
Freeport, the defending Class B champions, vault to No. 1 this week after finishing runner-up at the Southern Maine Classic-where they were the top Maine team. Yarmouth makes a huge jump to No. 2 after being unranked in the preseason. They were fifth at SMC despite missing two of their top five runners at due to SATs; they beat Freeport the week before. Houlton/GHCA rises to No. 4, proving their preseason ranking was right on target. Meanwhile, Gorham and Sanford, both absent from the preseason list, break in at No. 9 and No. 10.
It's still early, and with results shifting week to week, expect more shakeups before things settle after the Festival of Champions.
