Sophia Chase of Bangor leads a strong group of returning talent in the 400 meters this winter. The defending Class A champion, Chase, clocked a personal best of 60.65 to capture last year's title and enters the 2025 season as the top returner statewide.

In Class B, Freeport's Emma Graham is the highest returning finisher from the state meet after placing second a year ago. Bucksport's Haley Rose owns the fastest returning time in the division, having run 61.23 last season.
