SMAA meet recap: Biddeford girls

The SMAA girls season opened yesterday in Biddeford. There were several new state leaders clocked despite the challenging weather conditions. Opening the meet up was the Cheverus girls (Gwilym, Durgin, Lundquist, Hendry) 4x800 relay which clocked 10:28.9, a new state leader. In the girls mile Abbey Leonardi (Kennebunk) opened her 2010 outdoor season with a convincing win clocking a new state best 5:11.7. Maria Curit (Biddeford) sprinted to a new state best in the 400m, clocking 62.9. In the open 800m, Cheverus's Emily Durgin ran a strong time of 2:24.7, a new state leader. Keila Grigware (Biddeford) had a strong throw of 120-6 in the Javelin.  Results
