Marshwood senior Henri Rivard continued his winning at the New England High School Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Massachusetts, on Saturday. Rivard, the Class A mile and 800m champion, entered the New England meet as the pre-meet favorite. As he has done all season, he stayed near the front before unleashing a strong two-lap finish to win the fastest section in 4:22.39. His winning effort was just .54 seconds ahead of section 1 winner Josiah Conley of Concord, NH. Deering Ellis Wood finished fifth overall in 4:25.16 while Scarborough junior Atticus Merriam was sixth in 4:25.21 as both earned All-New England honors.

In the girls' mile, Class A runner-up Laurel Driscoll of Scarborough battled to the finish line as she hung on for a third-place finish with a 5:06.99. Right behind her in fifth was Class B champion Zoe Carroll of York (5:07.28).

In the high jump, Class A state champion Isabella Harmon of Scarborough cleared 5-7 to finish third. Class B champion Elyannah Briggs of Old Town cleared 5-5 to finish just off the podium in seventh.

Marshwood junior Anna Jennings leaped to a new personal best of 18-7 1/2 to finish on the podium in fourth; the jump is the sixth-best in Maine indoor history. Greely's Victoria Zandan was ninth with a best effort of 17-11 1/4.
Class A boys shot put champion Jake Bassi of Bangor earned a sixth with his fifth round throw of 54-5, which moved him from 8th place onto the podium. In the girls' shot put, Class B champion Sloan Gardner threw 40-0 1/2 to place fifth. John Bapst's Hadley Oliver made the final and finished eighth with a best throw of 37-5 1/2.

In the 1000m section two was dominated by Maine standouts Georgia Moon of Falmouth, Addison Elliott of Hampden Academy, and Ella Johnson of Hermon. Moon held on to win after setting the early pace at 2:57.81, with Elliott next in 2:57.83, and Johmson in 2:58.16, the trio finishing just off the podium in 7th, 8th, and 9th place.
Thornton Academy senior Maggie Tripp was ninth in the two-mile (11:09.54) to lead the Maine charge. Windham's Mason Arbour cleared 6-3 to finish 10th in the high jump.
