Bowdoin College dominates in a thriller enjoyed by all in attendance, as one of the closest individual finishes in meet history leads to a captivating Freshmen 1-2 punch. Coby Horowitz (Bowdoin '14, 25:43.06) eked out a narrow victory over Noah Graboys (Bates '14, 25:43.74). 

 

Junior Stan Berkov (3rd, 25:53.63), senior Colin Ogilvie (5th, 26:02), freshman Samuel Seekins (6th, 26:12,81), and freshmen Nicholas Saba (8th, 26:20.56) rounded out Bowdoin's top 5 runners en route to a score of 23 on the day.

 

Runner-up Bates had 36, and descending in order following them were USM (87), Colby (119), UNE (163), Maine Maritime Academy (185), U Maine Farmington (200), Saint Joseph's (233), U Maine Presque Isle (268), and Thomas College (286). Also competing, although not scoring were U Maine Machias and Unity.

 

On the Girls side of things, the race was just as close, as Colby edged out Bowdoin 23-36. Colby was backed by super sophomores Amy Tortorello and Berol Dewdeny (18:52 and 19:00 for 1st and 2nd respectively)

 

Following these two were Carolyn Baskir (19:01) and Olivia Mackenzie (19:26) of Bowdoin, then Layne Schwab of Colby (19:27) to round out the top 5.

 

Team wise, after the 1-2 finish of Colby and Bowdoin, the teams fell into place in the order of Bates (79), USM (129), UNE (151), U Maine Farmington (165), Saint Joesph's (206), U Maine Presque Isle (252), and Unity (278).
