In the state meet edition of the Performance of the week we some some intense voting on boys sides, but after the dust settled two performances stood above the rest. On the boys side triple state individual champion McKenzie Gary (Mt Ararat) was the public selection and it was well deserved. Gary won the 55m (6.62), the 200m (22.91) & Long Jump (22-1 1/4) while leading his team to a runner-up podium finish. On the girls side Scarborough senior Emilia Scheemaker was at her best during the state meet. Scheemaker won the long jump on her final jump getting out to a lifetime best 17-5, and then came back in her speciality the triple jump to set another personal best (37-0 1/2) which was nearly 3ft better than the runner-up, Scheemaker capped off her state meet with a string leg on the winning 4x200 relay. Her efforts led the Red Storm to their 7th straight Class A state title.
