Maine Athletes at New Balance Indoor Nationals
Busy Day for Mt. Ararat's McKenzie Gary as he competed in 3 different emerging elite events. Gary had his best showing in the 200m, qualifying for the 200m final running 22.67 to win his section, as the 7th fastest. In the final McKenzie blasted his way to a new All-time state record in the 200m, finishing 4th in a blazing fast 22.35!!! Gary also finished 10th in the 60m, clocking 7.17 which is also a new all-time state record! In the long jump McKenzie finished 14th, jumping 20-5 3/4

Maine athletes dominated the 1 mile racewalk today nabbing 5 of the top 6 spots. Evan Vincent (Maranacook) led the charge with his runner-up finish, clocking 7:25.78, while Bonny Eagle's Christian Malarsie finishing 3rd in 7:29.46. Gorham's Nate Bucknell also was under 8 minutes with his 4th place 7:56.29 performance, Ian Rixon (Medomak Valley) also cracked 8, with his 5th place 7:58.59. Rounding out the All-American winner was Gorham's Alex Thuotte who walked 8:01.65 for 6th RACE VIDEO
