Racewalkers Dunn & Williams selected to USA Junior vs Canada team

High school race walkers Abby Dunn, ELHS, Courtney Williams, Waterville HS and Nicole Court-Menendez had a great day at Junior Nationals in the 10K race walk. Abby walked 55:00.48 placing 4th lowering her PR by 1:58, Courtney walked 56:29.52 placing 6th lowering her PR by 3:46. Nicole who contracted streph throat during the final 2 weeks of the HS season and then not being able to race at New Balance Outdoor Nationals due to an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin and spending the day in a hospital emergency room, lowered her PR for the 10k distance by 92 seconds. By virtue of Abby and Courtney's finishing places they were selected for the USA race walk team that will compete against the Canadian Junior Race Walk team next month. Due to the proximity of the meet in Boston Nicole will be accompanying the team as an alternate.

The USA team will be coached by longtime college, high school and race walk coach Tom Menendez. This is his first time being selected to coach a National Team. The competition will take place in Boston on the second weekend of the month
