This Week's Nominees:
Grace Jones, Gould Academy (Maine): Winning the 2026 Southern Maine Classic freshman/sophomore race, a 5K clocking of 19:33.60 put 37.6 seconds between first and second across a 136-runner field. That time now ranks No. 30 among 948 athletes in MileSplit's database at the Gorham XC course @ Narragansett since 2019.
Emma Graves, Caribou High School (Maine): A 5K time of 19:51.08 earned first place out of 35 finishers at the Presque Isle XC Invitational, with a winning margin of 31.5 seconds. It's the fastest mark in MileSplit's database at the University of Maine Presque Isle XC course since 2021, cutting 49.0 seconds off her own previous time on this course.
Carson Dunn, Waterville High School (Maine): Crossing first among 43 finishers at the Waterville HS XC meet, the 5K time of 22:05.00 held off the field by 41.4 seconds. That performance sits at No. 6 of 139 athletes in MileSplit's database at Quarry Road since 2022.
Hallie Coots, Nokomis High School (Maine): A 5K time of 21:59.17 was enough for the win at the Mt. Ararat Home Meet, finishing first out of 54 by a 21.2-second margin. The performance places No. 5 of 123 athletes in MileSplit's database at Mt A XC - Highland Green GC since 2019.
Nell McAllister, York High School (Maine): Taking first of 44 finishers at Portsmouth, Kennett, a 22:08.80 5K clocking held a 22.5-second edge at the line. The effort ranks No. 24 of 277 athletes in MileSplit's database at Portsmouth Christian High School since 2019, improving her previous time on this course by 49.4 seconds.
