The girls race started out at a fast clip with the first 800 covered in 3:02 with Heather Evans (Y), Catherine Tierney (C) & Tori Brigham (C) at the front of the pack. By the 1 1/2 mile mark Evans had pulled away from the field, with Martha Veroneau (W) moving up strongly to 2nd. Tierney & Brigham remained in the 3rd & 4th spots with Brianna Eaton (Y) & Emma Inhorn (C) just a few strides behind. Evans would continue to dominate the field as she crossed the finish line first, she ran the 9th fastest time in history on the course 19:15. Veroneau who closed the gap a bit finished 2nd in 19:45 good for 15th best all-time on the course despite the soggy & humid conditions. Tierney would get 3rd, with teammate Brigham in 4th, Eaton would kick strong for 5th with Inhorn finishing 6th. Cape would avenge a loss to York last week by squeaking out the 36-37 win on their home course. Right after the meet they hop in cars to head to Rhode Island so they can run in the Ocean State Invitational on Saturday.

Fryeburg's Silas Eastman set out right for the gun looking for a fast time, he came through the first 800m in 2:23 and was on his way to the #3 performance in course history when he crossed the line in 15:26. Mitcell Finitz (Y) ran very well with the #17 AT performance 16:17. Cape's Thomas Bottomley had his best race of the season for 3rd 16:43, with Nick Eaton (Y) closing well for 4th, 16:45, Cape's Peter Doane rounded out the top 5, 16:54. York had a very strong pack today which was the key to the victory for the Wildcats, they placed 7 guys within 1:07 to score a 33-46 win over Cape.
