The SB Report: Boys XC Power Rankings Week #5

The author of the blog Sam Bonsey, has contributed to MaineTrackXC in the past and we are glad we can share his thoughts on the 2011 XC season. &nbsp;Bonsey is a former XC/track runner from Falmouth HS, and is currently a journalism student at the University of Maine. Check out his writing each week this fall.</p> </div>

TEAM

 

  1. Scarborough

    Previous: 1

    Last Meet: at Sanford

    Place: 1st

    Scarborough posted another easy victory last Friday at Sanford behind Nick Morris' first place finish. The Red Storm will be the early favorite going into the Festival of Champions on Saturday.

     

  2. Falmouth

    Previous: 2

    Last Meet: at Wells

    Place: 1st

    Falmouth dominated once again behind Tim Follo's first place performance at wells. Look for Falmouth to challenge Scarborough for the top spot at the Festival of Champions.

     

  3. Caribou

    Previous: 3

    Last Meet: Sectional Invitational

    Place: 1st

    Caribou proved why they are the team to beat in the class B east as they won the Sectional Invitational in Old Town last Saturday. Look for the Vikings to make a push for a top two finish at the Festival of Champions.

 

 

Individual

  1. Matt McClintock Madison

    Previous: 1

    Last Meet: at Wiscasset

    Place: 1st

    Time: 15:07(3 Miles)

    McClintock added another dominating victory to his stellar season at Wiscasset running a time of 15:07. If the weather is up to par, look for McClintock to not only break 16 minutes, but to make a run at Will Geoghegan's course record of 15:33 at the Festival of Champions.

     

  2. Silas Eastman Fryeburg

    Previous: 2

    Last Meet: at Cape

    Place: 1st

    Time: 15:26

    Eastman joined elite company on Friday as his time of 15:26 clocked in as the third fastest time ever on the fast Cape Elizabeth course. Look for Eastman to run another fast time on his home course this Saturday.

     

  3. Harlow Ladd Messalonskee

    Previous: 3

    Last Meet: at MCI

    Place: 1st

    Time: 17:30

    Ladd cruised to an easy victory at MCI last Friday. Look for Ladd to challenge Matt McClintock for the win at the Festival of Champions on Saturday.

     

  4. Chase Brown Boothbay

    Previous: 4

    Last Meet: at Wiscasset

    Place: 2nd

    Time: 16:11

    Brown placed second to his in-conference rival Matt McClintock running a fine time of 16:11. Look for Brown to challenge for a top three finish at the Festival of Champions.

     

  5. Tim Follo Falmouth

    Previous: 5

    Last Meet: at Wells

    Place: 1st

    Time: 16:38

    Follo cruised to an easy victory at Wells as he covered the three mile course in a time of 16:38. Look for Follo to challenge for a top three finish at the Festival of Champions on Saturday.
