The author of the blog Sam Bonsey, has contributed to MaineTrackXC in the past and we are glad we can share his thoughts on the 2011 XC season. &nbsp;Bonsey is a former XC/track runner from Falmouth HS, and is currently a journalism student at the University of Maine. Check out his writing each week this fall.</p>

Girls XC Power Rankings Week 6

Team

  1. Cheverus

    Previous: 1

    Last Meet: Home vs. Scarborough, Thornton Academy

    Place:

    The Lady Stags took the top four spots in their home meet vs. Scarborough and Thornton Academy. Cheverus heads to McAuley on Friday where they should go unchallenged.

  2. MDI

    Previous: 2

    Last Meet: Hancock County Championships

    Place: 1st

    MDI placed first at the Hancock County Championships behind Maggie Painter's second place finish. Look for them to win the PVC Championships this Saturday.

  3. Massabesic

    Previous: 4

    Last Meet: at McAuley

    Place: 1st

    Massabesic achieved a perfect score at McAuley behind Jocelyn Acheson's first place finish. They will head to Noble this Friday.

Individual

  1. Abbey Leonardi Kennebunk

    Previous: 1

    Last Meet: Home

    Place: Idle

    Time: Idle

    Leonardi got some extra rest before the post season. She will be looking for her fourth straight individual State Championship.

  2. Emily Durgin Cheverus

    Previous: 2

    Last Meet: Home

    Place: 4th

    Time: 19:46

    Durgin placed fourth as a part of a pack run at Cheverus running a time of 19:46. Look for her to go unchallenged when Cheverus heads to McAuley this Friday.

  3. Erzsebet Nagy Lawrence

    Previous: 3

    Last Meet: ?

    Place: N./A

    Time: N/A

    Nagy looks like a shoe-in for a top three finish at the state meet if she stays healthy. Look for her to continue to lower her times as she heads towards the post season.

  4. Abby Mace Maranacook

    Previous: 4

    Last Meet: ?

    Place: N/A

    Time: N/A

    Abby Mace looks like the early favorite to take the class B title. Look for her to contend for the top spot at the KVAC Championships this Saturday.

  5. Aleta Looker Ellsworth

    Previous: 5

    Last Meet: Hancock County Championships

    Place: 1st

    Time: 16:48 (2.55 Miles)

    Looker cruised to an easy victory at the Hancock County Championships running a time of 16:44. Look for her to contend for the individual title at the PVC Championships this Saturday.
