An outstanding race from Sam Wood (11th) and steady performances from the rest of the team enabled Mt. Ararat to pull off a surprise victory in KVAC Class A boys action today. The Eagles emerged with an 80-89 edge over Bangor. Lewiston placed 3rd.
On the girls side, Brunswick used a strong 1-5 pack to edge Mt. Ararat by single point 42-43. Mt. Blue took 3rd place. Individual races were won by Harlow Ladd of Messalonskee and Erzebet Nagy of Lawrence. Brunswick's Benson Worthington put on a late charge to overtake Andy Reifman-Packett of Mt. Ararat for 2nd place. On the girls side Teresa Murphy of Brunswick and Kelly Lynch Of Mt. Ararat took 2nd and 3rd.
