Sprint Medley record falls at Scarborough Relays

Scarborough girls take down 800m sprint medley all-time state best

 

The Scarborough 800m Sprint Medley team of (Andrea Tolman-200m, Caille Ledue-100, Catherine Bailey-100, & Nicole Kirk-400m) ran 1:52.5, which broke the previous all-time state best of 1:53.7 held by Biddeford HS set back in 1995. The Red Storm got a strong lead off led from Andrea Tolman 27.8, and got a fast anchor from Kirk 57.6 to win the event.

In the girls distance medley Kennebunk prevailed with Abbey Leonardi running the anchor leg in 5:08. In the girls 300m hurdles Sarah Perkins of Gorham ran 45.1 to drop her state leading time down, and also break the Rams school record. The meet was closed out with a state leading 4x400 performance from Scarborough (Katie Granzier, Karli Gilbert, Nicole Kirk & Emily Tolman) 4:08.9 aided by apair of sub 60 splits from Kirk & Tolman.

The were several teams in the running for the top spots, but in the end it was a tie between Gorham & Scarborough with 85 points a piece, Gorham won a coin flip to win the plaque. Marshwood was 3rd 74, while Windham was a point back in 4th with 73, while Massabesic rounded out the top 5 with 71.
