Orono girls & Sacopee Boys on top in Class C

Orono Girls dominate the competition, Sacopee boys win a close one to win Class C titles

The Orono girls got some big performances out of their freshman stars to capture the Class C title. Freshman Abby Weigang won the 100m hurdles 16.02 & 300m hurdles 48.26 plus was the runner-up in the poel vault. Another freshman Diane Tyutyunnyk provided a pair of runner-up finishes in the 100m & 200m plus a 3rd in the long jump. Junior Kayla Marquis won the pole vault (9-6) & high jump 5-0. Orono also got a win in the 4x400, a runner-up in the 4x100m relay & 3rd place in the 4x800.

Hall-Dale's Bri Crisci won the 100m (13.34) & 200m (27.21) plus added a runner-up finish in the 400m (62.43) for 28 individual points.

Washburn sophomore distane runner Carsyn Koch won the 1600m (5:11.63) & 800m (2:21.30). Koch defeated defending champion Abby Mace to win the 1600m. Mace did repeat as champ in the 3200m (11.24.31) as she had to fend of a challenge from Mt. Abram's Sadie James 11:25.06

MCI's Natasha Wallace won the shot (34-5) then added a win in the javelin (109-6)

On the boys side Sacopee Valley eeked out the win 64.5 to 62 over North Yarmouth Academy, Lisbon was 3rd with 59.

 

Sacopee got just one win on the day from Ryan Moulton in the shot (41-6) but used it's quality depth to pull out the win. Another standout was Kenny Bouchey who was the runner-iup in the 110m hurdles (16.36) & a 4th in the 300m hurdles. Mitch Watson also was a strong contributor with a 4th in the 200 (23.86), Cole Miller added a 4th in the pole vault (11-0)

 

Miguel Caballero (Orono) had a big day winning the 400m (51.47) then taking a photo finish in the 200m (23.44) over Bryan Blackman (Dirigo)

Matt McClintock (Madison) had a record breaking day with wins in the 1600m (4:16.4) & 3200m (9:16.92), he also added a 2nd in the 800 2:01.67

Taylor Watson (Maranacook) swept the hurdle races winning the 110's in 15.83 & 300m hurdles in 40.04

Morgan Reeves of Lisbon had a great day in the field events. Reeves won the long jump 21-5 3/4 & pole vault 12-6. He  was the runner-up in triple 41-2 1/4

Kameron Souza of Winthrop ran a very strong 800m in 1:57.37 to win by over 4 seconds then added a 4th in javelin
