Peter Doane of Cape finished 3rd ran a strong last mile to move up to 3rd (17:14). Will Shafer of Gray New Gloucester finished 4th (17:30) & then came the Falmouth packed led by Bryce Murdick in 5th, & then Spencer Brown in 6th. Nick Eaton of York got by Falmouth's Jay Lesser in the last stride for 7th 17:46 to 17:47. Abrin Berkemyer of Freeport was 9th (17:55), while Alec Jordan of York rounded out the top 10.

Boys D2

Defending champion Silas Eastman went through the mile in 4:57 to open up a gap over Merriconeag's Jack Pierce (5:11). Eastman would gear back his agressive style the rest of the way to win in a course record 16:10. "My plan was the get out hard in the first mile" Silas would say post race, "I did exactly what I wanted too."

Pierce of Merriconeag ran a great last mile to close the gap down to a respectable 12 seconds, as he crossed in 2nd with a fine 16:22. Yarmouth's Braden Becker was 3rd overall (17:18). NYA's Matt Malcom finished 4th (17:49), while Fryeburg's Logan Gerchman was 5th (18:05)

Girls D1

Greely's Kirsten Sandreuter showed she is rounding into top form with another fine performance. The junior set the tone early from the gun, and never looked back. Sandreuter would tear through 2 miles in just under 12:30, en route to a course record 19:28. Eva Bates completed the 1-2 sweep for Rangers with a strong run of 19:48. Heather Evans of York finished 3rd (20:37), Falmouth's Geneva Waite ran a strong last mile to move up to 4th (20:48), while defending champion Kristina Smith (Poland) rounded out the top 5.

Greely behind the 1-2 finish of Sandreuter & Bates edged Falmouhg 57-60 while Freeport was just 5 more points back in 3rd. This should make for a close and exciting regional final next week. Interesting when combining both D1 & D2 Falmouth actually was the top team 79-82 over Greely, and this was all without #1 runner Madeline Roberts.

Girls D2

In just her first year of XC, Caitlin Teare of Yarmouth was victorious in the D2 girls race. Teare used her strength over the final mile to move up to take the top spot, her finishing time was 20:48. Hannah Austin of NYA turned in a strong effort for the runner-up finish, 21:03. Teare's sister Ellie Teare had a good day as well finishing 3rd, 21:33. Samantha Pierce of Merriconeag finished 4th, while Martha Veroneau of Waynflete rounded out the top 5 finishers.

Yarmouth despite running without one of their top girls Sarah Becker still had plenty to cruise to the D2 girls title with 37 points.  Waynflete edged Class C rival Merriconeag 60-64 for the runner-up position.

Boys JV

In the boys JV race Falmouth's Iain Kurry set the tempo from the beginning, and held it all the way to the line. Kurry clocked 18:27, which would have placed him 6th on the winning Falmouth varsity squad. The mark also would have placed him 23rd overall in the Varsity race. York's Rex Brockleman of York was 2nd 10 seconds back in 18:37, while Tristan Tucker (Falmouth) was 3rd overall (18:52)

Girls JV

Freeport's Emily Jennings ran a strong race to capture the JV title at the WMC Championships, Jennings earned a 16 second win (22:42) for her efforts. Her time would have place her 31st in the varsity race and more importantly in Freeport's top 5.  Eliza McKenney of Greely was the runner-up in 22:58 just edging Lucy Alexander of Yarmouth by a second 22:59.
