Motivational Speech
Okay. I know that you are incredibly nervous right now.
You have probably gone to use the Porta-Potty at least a dozen times already.
But now it is time to focus.
Channel the waves of anxiety that are washing over you.
Channel the nerves that are causing you to fidget.
Channel all of your frantic emotions into a positive, unstoppable energy.
Recall the hours that you have spent preparing for this moment.
Recall the sweat that has soaked your skin after each workout.
Know that you are ready.
When you step out onto the track and race: Get out in front, and set the pace.
Settle into your pace, and get in the zone. Stay in your zone, and run your race.
Command the race, and finish strong.
Enjoy the oxygen deprived, heat exhausted, muscle torn state that comes with reaching your limits.
But if you can’t remember any of this when the gun goes off, Just know that you can do this.
