Class A Boys Top 20 Returners
Josh Horne of Mt Blue is the top state meet returner, while Bangor's Jonathan Stanhope has the fastest returning 5k. 7 runners are back with sub 17 credentials. While this list doesn't include Falmouth, who ran in Class B this year, they Yachtsmen are expected to be moving to Class A next fall.
The Bangor Rams are the top returning team based on the 2012 State meet results, they return 5 runners. Massabesic the defending champion will be in the mix again, while perennial power Scarborough will be looking to return to the top.

Class B Boys Top 20 Returners
The state's top runner in 2012 and defending Class B champion Dan Curts of Ellsworth will be back looking for a 2nd straight state title. Camden Hill's Ben Trapani and Cape Elizabeth's Liam Simpson are two others two watch in 2013. 6 runners return with times under 17 minutes for 5k.
Cape Elizabeth the 2012 champions return all 7 runners next fall, the Capers will be looking to repeat. Ellsworth returns a very strong squad that will contend for the state title.

Josef Holt-Andrews of Telstar will be the heavy favorite to win his first state xc title next fall, his best 5k on the season is 1:40 faster than the #2 returner.
Monmouth and Orono both return strong teams in 2013, they will be the pre-season favorites to win the Class C title.
