Traip's Barnes breaks girls pole vault record with 10-6 clearance

Ashleigh Roberts of Traip won the 55m Hurdles 9.24 in a Class B #2 time, she came back to win the 55m dash 7.85, then added a 3rd win in the long jump 15-6. Kelsey Barnes of Traip cleared 10-6 in the pole vault to up her Class B leader 6 more inches. The jump also broke the WMC league record of 10-5 held by York's Sibley Blum (2007)
Harrison Stivers of Freeport ran a Class B leader in the 800m 2:02.79, while holding off a strong challenge from Falmouth's Spencer Brown 2:03.93, which is a Class B #2 mark. Falmouth's Jacob Buhelt was a double winner, 55m (6.86) & 400m (53.29)
York's Thomas Reid took the 55m hurdles 8.49, then added another win in the triple jump 40-3 3/4
Girls Highlights
- Two Mile Run - Heather Evans of York High School hustled to a 12:10.54 win, which is a new season best, trailed by Vishva Nalamalapu of Falmouth High School and her 12:42.42
- Sr 400 Meter Dash - Hannah Perkins of Lake Region High School sprinted 1:06.08 for the victory just out-kicking the 1:06.37 by Heather Evans of York High School. After that was Sarah Panteleos of York High School at 1:06.64, Jocelyn Lorrey of Traip Academy (1:07.32)
- Sr 55 Meter Hurdles - Ashleigh Roberts of Traip Academy flew over the hurdles with a 9.24 victory, a new SB
- Jr 55 Meter Hurdles-Hannah Nightingale of Traip Academy sailed past the barries for a 9.63 win, trailed by Olivia Baranowski of Falmouth High School and her 10.06
- Sr 55 Meter Dash - Ashleigh Roberts of Traip Academy sprinted 7.85 for the victory, followed by Ashley Lomasney of York High School in 7.92, Charlotte Cutshall of Falmouth High School (7.96)
- 800 Meter Run - Ciera Wentworth of Freeport High School hustled to a 2:33.12 win, which is a new season best, followed by Cassie Darrow of Falmouth High School in 2:37.32
- Sr High Jump - Ashley Lomasney of York High School cleared a 4-8 to win
- Jr High Jump- Lauren Jordan of Gray New Gloucester High School cleared a 4-8 to win

- One Mile Run - Great race for Madeline Roberts of Falmouth High School who won in 5:46.65 and next was Ellen Best of Cape Elizabeth High School (5:50.43), Samantha Feenstra of Cape Elizabeth High School (5:53.43), Sarah Long of Cape Elizabeth High School (5:58.57)

- Sr 200 Meter Dash - Thomas Fortier of Falmouth High School smoked a 24.82 to win, a new SB
- Two Mile Run - Abrin Berkemeyer of Freeport High School got it done, winning in 10:39.54, a new SB
- Sr 400 Meter Dash - Impressive top speed helped Jacob Buhelt of Falmouth High School win in 53.29 and next was Joe Vogel of York High School (54.22)
- Sr 55 Meter Hurdles - Thomas Reid of York High School earned gold in 8.49 and next was Deven Roberts of Cape Elizabeth High School (8.88)
- Sr 55 Meter Dash - Jacob Buhelt of Falmouth High School sprinted 6.86 for the victory and next was Thomas Fortier of Falmouth High School (7.02), Harrison Stivers of Freeport High School (7.05)

- One Mile Run - Liam Simpson of Cape Elizabeth High School held strong for a winning time of 4:43.22 and next was Josh Brooks of York High School (4:52.37), Azad Jalali of Falmouth High School (4:52.81), Kyle Kennedy of Cape Elizabeth High School (4:53.81)
- Triple Jump - Thomas Reid of York High School hit the sand at 40-3.75 to win

Elizabeth Andrews of Wells swept the jr sprints with a 7.85 win in the 55m & 28.41 effort in the 200m. Greely's Sarah Ingraham won the Sr 55m 7.98 & added a second win in the long jump 15-2 1/2
On the boys side Well's Denzel Tomaszewski won the 55m 6.64 & ran a seasonal best of 23.84 in the 200m. Tomaszeswki's time in the 200m is a Class B leading mark. Sacopee Valley's Parker Hayes was a double winner as well with a 8.48 in the 55m hurdles, & triple jump 38-8. Greely's James Ferrar threw a Class B #3 mark with a toss of 45-3 in the shot.
