Bates and Bowdoin had very strong teams a year ago, with the Polar Bears looking primed to make a run at Nationals. Bates ended up getting the best of Bowdoin at the New England regional with their best race of the season. The Bobcats finished 6th one spot in front of the Polar Bears.
Bates looks to continue the success of a year ago, while Bowdoin was hit hard by graduation.
Colby College put in a strong effort a year ago nabbing 9th at the regional meet. The Mules are primed for a big 2019, and if the opening meet was any indication they might be ready to give Bates a run for their money.
USM was once again the top state school at the NE regional with their 11th place finish.
