I hate to bring anything negative up about the way Thornton Aademy conducts a meet, as TA does so much for high school track and cross country, and perhaps it is a matter of league policy, but there was a problem last year. There were five individual races for the girls last year, as opposed to seven for the boys, with all the other girls running in the open race. It would be inflamatory and an overstatement to say that some girls were trampled at the start of the open race, so let's just say that at the start some of the girls inadvertantly knocked down and stepped on some of their peers. It seems to me that with the popularity of girls cross country in the SMAA, which is pretty close to that of the boys, the girls ought to be treated equally, and have seven individual races. That would remove 20 to 30 girls from the open race, and take care of the problem.

What would the boys results look like with the insertion of the Cheverus athlete who won the freshman race?

He, Brady Foshay, was around 9:05 which would have moved Cheverus up about 45 seconds. They still would have been a bit over a minute behind Scarborough
