Spring Track Programs
Dear Coaches:
Bring your boys and girls to join us for the 60th running of our Rotary Patriots Day Race to be held
on Monday, April 20, 2009 in downtown Westbrook, Maine. The check-in, start and finish will
be at Riverfront Park on Main Street in Westbrook. You may check out the course on the
USA Track & Field web address: http://www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=119020
Even if you are familiar with this event, please look over the attached material. For those not
already familiar with this race, it has become a tradition of over a half-century for many high
schools in the central and southern Maine area and has increased in popularity over the years.
The Westbrook-Gorham Rotary Club would be honored if you can include our race in your plans for
this spring.
Although we again are not charging entry fees, we are seeking voluntary donations (suggest $1.00
per runner), which will be added to our Clubs support of our local youth-based activities. A
number of corporate sponsors have also pledged their support.
It will be extremely helpful to us if you can pre-register your runners early. Because there is no
registration fee, there is no risk associated with no-shows. We would very much prefer to scratch
runners on race day rather than scramble to get them registered that morning.
Please call if you have any questions. Hope to see your team(s) on Patriots Day, April 20th.
For the Race Committee,
Dave Rolfe
